About Bank Statement to Excel
Bank Statement to Excel turns PDF bank statements into spreadsheets you can trust. You upload a statement, check the rows in a preview, and download Excel or CSV, or a QuickBooks, Xero, OFX or QIF file on the paid plans. The site is run by Bank Statement to Excel, a company based in Wyoming, United States, and it went live in October 2026.
Who runs it
Ethan Koe runs the site day to day, looking after the converter, answering support email and writing the bank guides. Each guide is checked against the bank's own help pages before it goes up, and each one shows when it was last updated. All of them are listed on Ethan Koe's author page.
Why it exists
Most people who need a bank statement in a spreadsheet are doing something that can't wait: a mortgage application, a tax return, a month of bookkeeping, a client's year-end. Banks often give you a PDF and little else, or a CSV that only reaches back a few months. Retyping a statement by hand takes an hour and invites mistakes. Generic PDF-to-Excel tools split columns in odd places and never tell you if a row went missing. We built a converter that reads bank statements specifically, and tells you plainly when the numbers don't add up.
How we check the totals
Every conversion is checked against the statement itself. Where the statement prints a running balance, each balance must equal the one before it plus the transactions in between. Where it prints an opening and closing balance, the opening balance plus every transaction must equal the closing balance to the cent. If either check fails, the preview marks the rows that don't fit so you can look at them before you download anything. A statement that passes is marked as verified; one with no balances to check is marked as unverified, so you always know which is which.
What happens to your files
Statements are sent over HTTPS, processed on our own server and deleted automatically: after one day for visitors without an account, and on a schedule you can see and shorten in your account. We never store PDF passwords. Payments go through Stripe, so we never see your card number. The details are on our Security and Privacy pages.
