How long we keep files

  • Not signed in: deleted after 24 hours.
  • Free account: 7 days. Starter: 90 days. Bookkeeper and Firm: 12 months.
  • Turn on "Auto-delete after 24 hours" or use "Delete all my files" in your account at any time.
  • When a paid plan ends, files are kept 30 more days, then follow the free plan's period.
  • Statement Fixer tools (/tools): free use runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded or stored. With Statement Fixer or a converter plan, the fixed file (not your original) is saved to your account for 90 days, or your plan's longer period, so you can download it again. Delete it any time.
  • Deleting your account deletes your files, rules and layouts. Billing records are kept as tax law requires.

Who processes data for us

  • Hostinger: our servers (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
  • Cloudflare: website security and delivery, bot protection
  • Stripe: payments (they hold card details, we don't)
  • Google: "Continue with Google" sign-in
  • Resend: sending account emails such as password resets

Some of these may process data outside your country, under safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Statement Fixer Chrome extension

  • The extension fixes CSV files on your computer. Your file is not uploaded, except that Statement Fixer subscribers' fixed files are saved to their account for export history, as described above.
  • It never reads web pages, including your bank's website. When a download finishes, it only sees the file's name, to offer the fix for .csv files.
  • It contacts only bankstatementtoexcelonline.com: to check and count your free files, and to save subscribers' export history. It uses your sign-in on our website, if you have one.
  • It stores one setting in your browser (whether to offer the fix after CSV downloads). No ads, no tracking, and nothing is sold or shared.

Cookies

We use essential cookies: one to keep you signed in, and one to keep your uploads tied to your browser.

We also use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages help them. It records pages viewed, the rough location from your IP address, and your device and browser type. It never sees your statements or the files you upload. For visitors in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, Google Analytics runs without cookies, so it only counts visits anonymously. We don't use advertising cookies and don't share this data for advertising. You can block Google Analytics with your browser's privacy settings or Google's opt-out add-on.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, California or Canada) you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, and object to some processing. Most of this you can do yourself in your account; for anything else, use our contact page. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

Security

Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, PDF passwords are never stored, and access to data is limited to running the Service.

Children

The Service isn't for anyone under 18.

Changes

We'll post updates here and email account holders about important changes.
