Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to upload my bank statement?
Yes. Files travel over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, are only used to convert them for you, and are deleted automatically: after 24 hours if you're not signed in, or after the period your plan keeps them. We never store PDF passwords. See Security.
Which banks are supported?
Statements from most banks work, including Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Barclays, HSBC and many more. See the bank list. If yours doesn't convert well, use "Fix it manually" or tell us.
How accurate is it?
On text-based PDFs we read every row and then check that each running balance matches the amounts before it. If a row doesn't add up, we flag it so you can check it against the PDF with one click.
Does it work with scanned statements?
Scanned (photographed) statements are read with text recognition, which is less exact than text PDFs. Always check scanned results; the balance check helps catch misreads.
My PDF has a password. What do I do?
Upload it and type the password when asked. We use it once to unlock the file and don't keep it.
Is it free?
Yes: 3 pages every 24 hours without an account, 15 pages with a free account, and one free Accountant Pack. No card needed. Paid plans start at $12 a month for 600 pages, and unused pages roll over. See Pricing.
Can I import the results into QuickBooks, Xero or other accounting software?
Yes. Excel and CSV are free. Paid plans add QuickBooks (.qbo), OFX for Xero and others, QIF, and a journal-entry CSV.
Can it help with my taxes?
Paid plans have a Taxes & bookkeeping mode: categories, business or personal, a Needs-review list, net profit, US Schedule C lines and estimated-tax quarters. It organises your records; it isn't tax advice.
How long do you keep my files?
Not signed in: 24 hours. Free account: 7 days. Starter: 90 days. Bookkeeper and Firm: 12 months. You can switch on auto-delete after 24 hours or delete everything at any time.
Can I convert many statements at once?
Yes. Upload several PDFs together and download them all as one spreadsheet, with a column showing which file each row came from.
Do you have an API?
Yes, on the Firm plan, for firms that want to convert statements from their own software. See Pricing.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Cancel from your account; your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. See the Refund Policy.
